About Me
MY road to health:
My health journey has taken many turns over the years. It began with wanting to get fit as a teen. That was great until it became obsessive, which led to bulimia and disordered eating. As an adult I developed Ulcerative Colitis.
There were lots of lessons along the way, but the most profound lesson in that journey was realizing that the external issues were internal struggles that found a physical manifestation. Yikes!!
By the grace of God, a lot of introspection and plain ‘ol hard work, the body image issues were able to be resolved. However, the Ulcerative Colitis was a little more of a challenge to navigate. I became desperate to find answers to help my body heal. I had tried different medications, but they only seemed to make my symptoms worse.
I tend to be a little stubborn, especially when it comes to finding solutions for my body, so I changed course and looked for an alternative approach. I wanted and needed answers that made sense. The search for answers put me on a new path and ignited a passion to pursue an education in holistic nutrition, coaching and resilience. I had to learn to connect to myself again, become my OWN health advocate, learn to use my intuition with nutrition, and experiment with different therapeutic modalities. I had to find MY Trū North.
My mission is to help others do the same!
